Engraved: The Point Grounds Chronicles – Our First Game

Engraved: The Point Grounds Chronicles was Chaotic Krafterz’s very first game — and one of our most ambitious ones. A gothic horror adventure set in the early 20th century, it was born from a desire to craft something deep, narrative-driven, and visually striking. Looking back, it remains a project we’re genuinely proud of.

The World of Point Grounds

The game follows Aline, a young girl sent to live at Point Grounds — a grand, unsettling estate — after her parents mysteriously vanish during an expedition led by her uncle Michael. The mountains surrounding the estate are named after a demonic spirit called Aneto. As Aline begins to uncover the truth about what happened to her family, she realises the house itself may be hiding something far darker than grief.

A Game Built with Craft and Conviction

Engraved was designed around atmosphere, investigation, and a layered narrative. The environments — from candlelit Victorian libraries to storm-swept manor facades — were built with an obsessive attention to detail. The character of Aline was fully modelled and rigged, with a distinctive 1920s aesthetic that felt authentic to the period.

Watch the Official Teaser

To show the world what we had built, we released a teaser. The response was overwhelmingly positive — which only made what came next harder.

Presented at GameCamp and Gamescom

We brought Engraved to industry events — including GameCamp and Gamescom — where it attracted real attention. Players and professionals alike were drawn to the tone, the story, and the world. The feedback was encouraging. We believed we had something special.

Why Engraved Is on Hold

Despite the positive reception, we were unable to secure the funding needed to bring Engraved to completion. The scope of the project — its environments, its narrative depth, its production quality — made it too large a venture for a small independent studio to carry alone without external support.

Rather than compromise on the vision, we made the difficult decision to pause the project. Engraved is not cancelled — it is waiting for the right moment, and the right conditions, to continue.

A Letter Left Unanswered

Like the letter Uncle Michael writes to Aline — full of promise, care, and things left unsaid — Engraved remains a story waiting to be told.
